SOVEREREIGNTY and SUBMISSION

In 2007, we were visited by a medical doctor who impacted many lives with the two words that governed all the decision making of his life. those two words were sovereignty and submission.

This man, who grew up in a small rurual town, rode an airplane for the first time in his life when he went off to college. He completed his four year course, continued his studies for a Master's Degree and stayed for a PhD. In his first job he was treated unfairly and for no apparent cause, his contract was not renewed and he was treated quite unprofessionally.

When the circumstances of life did not make sense, the concepts of sovereignty and submission provided peace and direction for his life. "Knowing that God is sovereign in all things, I knew that all I had to do was trust him and wait. He would show me his plan for my life and how it was going to work out. I asked my authority for advice and guidance in discerning what I felt that God was directing me to do - even though it seemed to defy logic. My authority agreed that the direction I was sensing was indeed of God."

At this point this man returned to college to study medicine. After another long stint in college, he took the position of a staff anesthesiologist at a Trauma One Center in Springfield, Missouri. God has used him in many ways in the operating room, in personal relationships and in medical missions to impact lives.

It is my prayer that every person who comes in contact with Philippine Christian School of Tomorrow would embrace these two words and apply the concepts in their lives. We emphasize a great deal the importance of making the right choices in life, for every day and many time throughout the day, we are faced with choices that may affect the rest of our lives. How fortunate we are to rely on a sovereign God and submit to HIS plan.

Psalm 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a builder to all those that trust in him.
